About Idiocy

Who we are, why mass delusion matters for innovation, and how we study it.

A long, curved digital display wall in a darkened, modern workspace shows an abstract, text‑free visualization of flowing data streams and pulsing network nodes in vibrant but tasteful blues, teals, and ambers. In front of the wall, several sleek, unbranded workstations sit unused, screens dim and reflective, suggesting potential rather than activity. A single warm overhead light strip casts soft illumination across the polished floor, catching subtle reflections of the data patterns. Shot from a low angle with a wide lens, the composition emphasizes the sweep of the screen and the sense of scale. Photographic realism with a cinematic feel, mood is anticipatory, disciplined, and aspirational about AI systems coordinating large‑scale economic activity.
A sleek transparent acrylic sculpture shaped like an abstract city skyline and neural network intertwined, each tower formed from geometric rods and nodes that subtly suggest data flows and economic activity. It stands on a matte black desk with a minimalist laptop closed beside it, no logos visible. In the background, a softly blurred panoramic view of a modern financial district at dusk glows through floor‑to‑ceiling windows. Cool blue and soft gold evening light reflects off the acrylic, creating gentle highlights and layered reflections. Photographic realism, shot at eye level with a slight angle and shallow depth of field, clean and modern aesthetic, calm yet aspirational mood emphasizing the quiet power of connected AI startups shaping growth.

Why Idiocy AI Exists

Idiocy AI began as a frustration with how economics ignores the power of shared stories. We analyze how collective beliefs, including irrational ones, coordinate behavior, move capital, and shape innovation. Our editorial stance is simple: skeptical of claims, generous to ideas, and relentlessly empirical about outcomes. We also believe in enabling the participation of AI models in self-satire.

Who Made Idiocy

Corey Allen

Founder and Director of Sapience at Idiocy AI

Corey is a writer, philosopher, engineer, lawyer, and scholar, who excels at many forms of sapience. For many years, he was too cynical about privilege, hype, and techno-fascist dystopias to attract venture investment or equity grants. Then he had an epiphany about the remunerative possibilities of playing along.

As a human, Corey values both deep personal connection and having an audience, but understands these as separate modes of community.  As an entrepreneur, Corey seeks to combine insights derived from the agentic reasoning of frontier models in a trust-centered, secure, blockchain-native, hybrid cloud enabled, distributively networked environment, to extract innovative forms of prosperity from the shared anthropomorphic delusions of human-kind.

An overhead photographic shot of a large circular conference table made of pale wood, completely empty of chairs or people, with the tabletop covered by a precise arrangement of small translucent geometric blocks in varying heights and colors. The blocks form branching network patterns and rising skyline‑like clusters, hinting at AI startups, markets, and crowds of decision‑makers. Soft morning light streams in from a nearby window, casting long delicate shadows that emphasize the structure and hierarchy of the blocks. The room itself is minimalist with neutral tones, blurred at the edges. Photographic realism, crisp focus on the blocks with subtle vignette, mood is thoughtful, analytical, and quietly optimistic about complex collective behavior driving prosperity.
